MANASO The Malawi Network of Aids Service Organisations


AYISE Being an HIV and AIDS Service organisation is a member of MANASO and is proud to be among the earliest members who participated in the formulation of MANASO from the regional networks of SORAN, NORAN and CENTRAN to the MANASO people know today.

MANASO has since grown to a national network of close to 400 community-based and faith-based institutions. MANSO works towards building the capacity of Malawi’s communities to respond to HIV and AIDS.  MANASO train member groups in administration, such as monitoring and evaluation of programs, and in service-delivery, such as home-based care for those living with AIDS.
As a local organization, started and led by Malawians, MANASO staff perceives obstacles unique to local settings and help devise culturally and locally appropriate solutions.

Through MANASO, AYISE is networked to all HIV and AIDS service organisations.

As an NGO that advocates for gender awareness mainstreaming in development activities, AYISE is a registered member of the NGO Gender Coordination Network of Malawi.

Through the NGO GCN, AYISE is networked to all NGOs involved in Gender and Development in Malawi.

CONGOMA, the Council for Non-governmental Organisations in Malawi, is designated as the coordinating body for all non-governmental organisations in Malawi. It is a membership organisation with the goal of ensuring effective coordination and collaboration of all the NGOs and other development partners including government.  CONGOMA takes an active role in advocating for a more conducive environment for NGO activity, and has gained the respect of both the government and donor community for its efforts.


CONGOMA exists to motivate, enhance and maximize the potential and actual impact of its members in articulating and implementing sustainable socioeconomic development programs to reduce poverty in Malawi through mutual support and networking with all interested stakeholders.

Through CONGOMA, AYISE is networked to all NGOs in Malawi.

The National Youth Council of Malawi  is a statutory corporation of the Republic of Malawi established through an Act of Parliament, The National Youth Council of Malawi Act No. 22 of 1996.


The Mission of the Council is to work towards empowering the youth of Malawi to utilise their potential to realise their aspirations and ambitions for their personal and national development.


The Council is an autonomous, independent and non-partisan statutory corporation whose main mandate is to promote youth participation so as to allow Malawi’s youth to realise their full potential in all endeavours. Amongst other things, The Youth Council of Malawi aims to develop, promote, encourage and coordinate all forms of youth activity in Malawi, while also working to facilitate and encourage cooperation among registered youth organisations in Malawi.

Through the National Youth Council of Malawi, AYISE is networked to all Youth Organisations in Malawi.

Malawi Electoral Support Network (MESN)

As an organisation that has been accredited by the Malawi Electoral Commission to participate in Electoral processes leading to various elections, AYISE is a registered member of the Malawi Electoral Support network. (MESN).

Through MESN, AYISE is networked to all the 69 accredited service providers in Civic and Voter Education.


JLJ Human Rights Consultative Committee

As an organization that deals with promotion of respect for human rights and the consolidation of democracy, AYISE is a registered member of the Human Rights Consultative Committee.

The Human Rights Consultative Committee is an  NGO network of Human Rights Organisations committed to the promotion and protection of human rights for the Malawian society. Its main activities include advocacy, monitoring, information sharing, capacity building, and resource mobilisation for member institutions, in coordination with state institutions, government and key stakeholders.

Through HRCC, AYISE is networked to all Human Rights Organisations, Democracy consolidation and Governance NGOs in Malawi

Coordinating Committee for international Voluntary Services (CCIVS)

As an organization involved in volunteering and youth exchanges, AYISE is registered with the Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Services (CCIVS), working under UNESCO in Paris, France.

The Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCIVS) was created as an international non-governmental organisation responsible for the coordination of voluntary service. It is today one of the main international structures which acts as a coordinating link between voluntary organisations which run workcamps and medium and long term volunteer activities.
CCIVS has currently over 140 member organisations all across the world, among which are international organisations having their own national branches in over 100 countries. The activities and programmes of these organisations are carried out by groups of national and international volunteers over a period ranging from a few weeks (e.g. international workcamps) to more than a year.

Through CCIVS, AYISE is networked to all organisations involved in workcamps, youth and volunteer exchange.
